Built my new pc yesterday, upgraded from AGP to PCI-E and from my Athlon 3700+ to a C2D E6600.

Spec :

Mobo: ASUS P5B Deluxe/WiFi
CPU: E6600
RAM: Corsair 2GB DDR2 XMS2 Dominator PC2-6400C4 TwinX
GFX: BFG GeForce 8800 GTS OC 320MB
PSU : Tagan TG530-U15 (530w)
Cooler : Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro CPU Cooler (Socket 775)

Press the power button and everything comes on but i get no video coming through. I removed each component and re-inserted one by one to check for any beeps as i wasn't getting any before, i started again with no RAM and i got a steady beep beep, i put only one stick back in and got no beeps. Is it sounding like the RAM could be dodgy? :(

I've checked all the cables and they all seem correct. On my Tagan PSU theres a 20 and 4 pin connector which join together which i connected but also on the P5B there's a slot for either a 4 or 8 pin connector, does it make any difference between using the 4 or 8?

Very grateful for any help as i can't think what else it may be, just hoping i don't have to RMA anything!

/opens up case

You have the 24 pin connected mid-right and the 4 pin connected top left, yeah?

Have you tried with just one stick of ram (try both sticks seperately)?

Yep i have both the 24 and 4 pin connected, any reason to use the 8 pin?

First i had the 2 sticks in but then i tried it without (got beeps) then with 1 stick (no beeps), have tried both sticks.

Ok possible progress i hope or my mobo is broken

Before i had each RAM stick in the 1st and 3rd modules (read this was the best?) have just put a single stick in the 2nd module and we now have a picture!

So is this ok or is the module on the mobo broken?

First thing I'd do now you have it running is run memtest and see if it picks any errors up on memory :)

That could take a while as i've got to install Vista

Just tested the other stick and i got no display again so i'm thinking i'll have to RMA them.

rule out volatge and timings before u RMA. When u put the second stick set the timings and voltage at the stock for this ram.

Then try the set in the 1st and 3rd and then 2nd and 4th if it helps

Ok the Vista install went fine, activated and ready to go.

At work now but any chance you could explain for me how i go about doing this? sorry to be a pain but not delved in the Bios in the past very often.

Been reading quite a lot of similar reports with RAM not working properly with this board. Does anyone know if a recent version of the Bios fixed this?

Right i figured out the voltage and timings and still no change, definitley one of the sticks is faulty, just doesn't make sense otherwise.

RMA it is! :(
