Tell me what you think came up to around £700 inc VAT and Shipping

1st ever build :D
I'll post pics up when its all built etc..

the Q6600 is currently faster and cheaper than the E8400, + being quadcore it might be useful for certain aps....

ohh youve already ordered it..

well i have the same antec900 + corsair 620 + i got the BFG OC2, ---> install rivatuner, and you can increase fan speed + overclock it to just under 700 no probs. i put my antec case fans all to high, and set the 8800gt to 65% of max, that way it sounds the same i think + it idles at 45 degrees and peak is around 60 after crysis for 1 hour

I would have gone with two DVD+RW's myself but that's only a tiny niggle! You'll have fun with that lot :) As it's your first build, I'll be negative: Be prepared for a couple of weeks of figuring out why the ****ing computer doesn't work properly! :p

Err how exactly do you figure the Q6600 is faster than the E8400, apart from with these (currently very very limited) certain apps?

Lets not start another dual quad debate :p

Looks like a good build you got there, I've got the same processor and 4gb of that ram, runs a dream. Can easily get that e8400 to 3.6ghz on stock volts (400x9) without upping memory, may have to up some motherboard voltages to make it stable.

Outta interest, what screen you gonna be playing with?? Only ask cause I would have gone with a 3870xt to crossfire in the future...but then thats just me :)

Ha ha.

Isn't that always the way with the first build.. :p
