My old PC just blew up in my face and have decided to get a new one, and as I wondered if this would all work.

I will be keeping my Current Graphics Card 8800GTX, my 10000RPM 150GB Sata HDD and DVD Drive, but with this new rig it should allow me to either add a 2nd 8800GTX for SLI or get 2 new 9800 cards depending on how my funds are at the time.

It is all compatible which is the good news. The possibly not so good news is that it isn't an SLi capable motherboard so you can't add a second 8800GTX at any point, to do so would require an Nforce 7X0i based motherboard.

I'd also consider not going for DDR3 at this moment in time (and especially not with a Q6600 unless you are seriously overclocking) as you can get 4gb of perfectly decent DDR2 PC6400 for about half the price like this G.Skill kit. You'd need to change the motherboard but I'd be thinking of that anyway.

Looks a very nice set up. Few things i would change firstly, I would go for the new Wolfdale CPU . Secondly, make sure that, that motherboard is able to run SLI as in spec it says:
3 x PCIe x16 (blue @PCIe2.0 x16 mode, black @PCIe x4 or x1 mode) with CrossFireTM Technology support. Correct me if i am wrong:D, That is most likely

Crossfire is not SLI - it can't run SLI unless it's an nvidia chipset like 6x0i or 7x0i. I wouldn't pay the inflated prices for ddr3, and would also get 4gb of ddr 2, as suggested by semi-pro. For a cheap(ish) but powerful motherboard, the p5k premium is spot on. Agree with the q6600 - brilliant for the price. No mention of heatsink. I'd suggest either Tuniq Tower or Thermalright Ultra Extreme 120. Both are top coolers - the TR 120 Extreme is a little bit better.

Anyway, I hope your face isn't too badly hurt from your PC blowing up in it ;)

Personally there doesnt look like there is much difference between these sets as i can overclock the Q6600 to a similar speed as the Q9550, the memory doesnt lose much speed and the Motherboard is what im looking for which is SLI, I would have preferred it to be an ASUS but hey you cant always get exactly what you want. This second set up would also save me a lot of money aswell just on these items.

drop the corsair memory down to pc6400 with the Q6600, will let you clock it to 3.6ghz.

as mentioned i'd go with the ddr2 setup over ddr3.
