New PC Build

oh ok, i would have thought that running crossfire with both slots at 16x would be more beneficial.

well seems like the http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MB-251-GI&groupid=701&catid=5&subcat=1782 would be fine then.

i still dont know why http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MB-398-AS&groupid=701&catid=5&subcat=1782 is no good, apart from the price.
is it not a good overclocking board?

edit:

with what you said about retail copy of win7 and a smaller SSD.

they are all good overclocking boards, the Crosshair just does even more extreme overclocking, think liquid nitrogen/multimeters and trying to smash world records.

is this you?

yeh, its not really down to me :)

building it for GF, and she wants everything that's the best hence massive case, x6 cores, she wants to make me upset that mine is "worse".

i have to say i am leaning towards the AMD system, i like the Intel its looking nice but just not sure of it, i am so thorn between them :(

yes i am a AMD Fan before you ask, but i try and be neutral when buying.

hahahah, yeh that help and makes it worse to be honest, you cna never have to much info about it.

i am going to overclock the CPU slightly so on that basis wouldn't the AMD suite me better?

also i only went for the 1075t for the standard 3.0 so if i went for the 1055 i could save a few pennies as i am overclocking it slightly

thats correct, if the 1055t/1075t and 1090 are all running at the same speed then performance is identical, they do have different turbo boost speeds, but I think this is disabled usually by the user when overclocking, to maintain a stable system.
