New pc Build

I didn't see anywhere he mentioned a monitor was included in his budget, if so then a decent i5 build is off the cards for £900 as your build is missing a CPU cooler as well if he ever wants to overclock.

If I buy the parts over a period of time slowly when they're in offer, hopefully ill be saving enough for a monitor and maybe a better CPU cooler :)

first post, also said he didn't want or wasn't sure he even wanted a gaming build at all, first said £1200, with monitor, now £900 so no idea if it's now needed or not, or other bits like o/s or keyboard mice speakers either.

now everyone has jumped in with pure gaming rigs, so won't spec another, hopefully you will get what your after after you know what you need in the first place, hono's spec in your first thread was about the most balanced gaming rig spec i've seen so far, maybe he will do you another one in your new budget

Doing it this way will get you better components, I learnt the hard way and went for cheap spec everything and within a year I'd upgraded nearly every part.

Within how long do you think I will be able to get the parts you recommended if I wait for them to be on offer because there's always a daily offer on OCUK

When I posted that thread I was planning on using all my money for a pc however I will be needing a bit of it for my driving lessons so that's why I did another one with a £900 spec

another good spec hono same as the first one you did him in his first tread

Thanks bud. I didn't actually look back at the other thread as he had changed the budget. I realise now he doesn't need the optical drive so I could rebalance it......

Thing is, he should list exactly what he wants/needs for his money. If he keeps changing his mind he'll get a rep as a messer. Then the decent speccers will just plain ignore his threads. I don't mean that to sound nasty, just friendly advice

i agree with you, next time im making a thread i will definetly say what i need and what i dont need :(

The end.

You should save this in a notepad since its probably the perfect spec for about 25% of the 'spec me' threads in general hardware.

thanks, i wont be needing the mouse and keyboard set, if i pay another extra £50 will i be able to get the 7950 instead for £950?

If you can stretch your budget to £950 and swap a few things in and out to save a quid here or two, it will definitely be worth the upgrade to a 7950.

for me, before anyone ask's for a spec, they need to fully understand what they want the pc spec/build for. no point in having bits or power they will never need, i see 750+psu being asked for and spec'ed many times when only a 450 to 500 would be plenty, gaming cards being used when better pro card would work better, 8gb of ram being quoted as god's answer to everything again which it isn't.

hono spec is far better than any been quoted so far, an all round build/spec that covers all within budget, some items i know he tweak if in stock, like the psu but there not so no point in putting them in, which many still do.

i always read what the poster says first then spec for that, but sometimes it's a bit confusing like when someone asks for portable but doesn't want a laptop etc, says everything is needed then says no to o/s keyboard and mouse etc.

i go with the option that more is always better, but try and keep in budget where possible, but don't always get it right and make some right mistakes, seem this spec was one of them, i thought a younger person ie still at school etc would like a ammo box case, 2 monitors and a half decent quad core setup, as games wasn't the main thing the pc was to be aimed at, but it seems it turned out to be a pure gaming rig with no other uses, as well you can't get them all right, or even half of them it seems :)

good luck on your final thoughts and build, hope it serves you well and does what you need it to do, i'm sure if you go with Hono's build it will do.

happy gaming
