Hey Guys, I made a few topics over last few weeks, but hopefully this one will be it!

My budget is £1200 for a tower only.

so far iv got which i like..

YOUR BASKET
1 x Intel Core i7-4770K 3.50GHz (Haswell) Socket LGA1150 Processor - Retail £259.99
2 x Gigabyte ATI Radeon HD 7970 Windforce 3X 3072MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card £239.99 (£479.98)
1 x Gigabyte Z87X-OC Intel Z87 (Socket 1150) DDR3 ATX Motherboard £149.99
1 x Corsair Obsidian 750D Full Tower Case - Black (CC-9011035-WW) £134.99
1 x Corsair XMS3 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9 1600MHz Dual Channel Kit (CMX8GX3M2A1600C9) £61.99
Total : £1,101.94 (includes shipping : £12.50).

i already have this ...

YOUR BASKET
1 x Cooler Master B Series 700w Power Supply £59.99
Total : £70.49 (includes shipping : £8.75).

but not sure if it would run the system above.

Im open to all suggestions, i just want the best gaming pc for my money!

I'd bump up the PSU to at least 750w for Crossfire. Something by Antec or Seasonic - can't go wrong. And maybe get some orange RAM to fit the motherboard...

Should be getting some GPU deals on OcUK this weekend, so wait for that.

before i pull the triggr will i be able to use two asus 7970 matix platinum's in the 750d case in a Gigabyte Z87X-OC Intel Z87 mobo?

Yeah you should be able to.

The OC boards top 16X slot is a little close to the socket so if you add a really really large aftermarket heatsink it could touch the top of the card.

The above is a K2 cooler.

But if you use a H100/H100i then there is no issue.

i will be going water cooling later just stock fan for the time being i was more worried about the cards touching with them being so wide

one more question lol this mobo:

1 x PCI Express x16 slots, running at x16
1 x PCI Express x16 slots, running at x8 (Runs x4 for xFire 3/4 way)
2 x PCI Express x16 slot, running at x4
1 x PCI Express x1 slot
2 x PCI slot

the pcie slots will it run at 16x and 4x or 8x and 8x if i use slot 1 and 3?

1. 16x(16x electrical) 3.0
2. 1x(1x electrical)
3. 16x(4x electrical) 3.0
4. PCI
5. 16x(8x electrical) 3.0
6. PCI
7. 16x(4x electrical) 2.0 (run from the chipset hence the 2.0)

The 1st orange slot shares its 16X with the third orange slot, so both run at 8X/8X with two cards.

Evening guys, Bought gfx cpu case etc but still stuck on mobo the gigabyte z87 oc is the best from what iv read but the orange is putting me off!

YOUR BASKET
1 x Asus Z87 SABERTOOTH Intel Z87 (Socket 1150) DDR3 ATX Motherboard £199.99
1 x Asus Z87 MAXIMUS VI GENE Intel Z87 (Socket 1150) DDR3 Micro ATX Motherboard £169.99
1 x Asus Z87 MAXIMUS VI HERO Intel Z87 (Socket 1150) DDR3 ATX Motherboard £169.99
1 x Gigabyte G1.Sniper M5 Intel Z87 (Socket 1150) DDR3 Micro ATX Motherboard £158.99
1 x MSI Z87-G45 Gaming Series Intel Z87 (Socket 1150) DDR3 ATX Motherboard £113.99
Total : £824.35 (includes shipping : £9.50).

would any of these match performance of the z87-oc i only pick these purely on colour scheme!

Water cooling so maybe the Maximus vi formula, a bit more than the ones you've mentioned but comes with built in water block(all you need is barbs/compression fittings plus tubing).

Have you seen the UD4 if Red+Black is your thing?

But the OC board still owns them all.

cheers Stu,

decided to go for the OC dont want to compromise quality for looks, plus the 7970 matrix's will cover most the orange! need some black ram for the oc board and 4770k, any more suggestions?

iv ran this in my last 3 systems and im very fond of it!
