Hi Guys

Will be building my new pc tomorrow but what i wanted to ask is i have all my steam games stored on a 2tb hdd in my current pc it does not have windows installed on it btw just the games only.

Will i still be able to run my games from it once installed in the new pc or will it require a new install?

I just install Steam on the same hard drive games are on

I don't

I install Steam as a program on my SSD with the OS on it and then the games are stored on a mechanical drive. This ensures Steam boots up nice and quickly but you still have bonus of being able to use the space of the mechanical drive for your games.

In the OP's case my advice would be to install Steam on your SSD (assuming you have one) along with your OS and the rest of your applications. Once installed you will noticed none of your installed games will appear to be installed. Double click (install) on a game you know you have installed on your 2TB drive it will give you the option to install on a drive of your choice, point it to where your existing Steam Library is stored on your 2TB drive. Give it a minute and it will realise that is where all your games are located and your entire library of installed games will appear in Steam as before.

I hope this helps.
