Hi All,
This is really a thank you note.
I am delighted to share that I have now successfully rebuilt my MicroATX system with the new ASUS P5Q-EM motherboard which seems to be an excellent board. The SATA sockets actually point upwards and it can address 16GB of RAM using all sockets. The Q6600 is working great with Artic Silver 5 paste (necessary after a reinstall). I know all about this now
and my CPU seems to be running at about 45deg C which seems good. So I guess I did the reclean and pasting of the heat sink correctly !!
Since this is my first build I am thrilled to have it working so well although I had to rebuild it due to a motherboard swap. So a big thank you for all of those kind people in this forum who helped me !!!
Now to the OS install !!!
