I have recently built a new pc the other day and first had issues with my new WD blue 550 not being recognised by the bios and staying on the rog splash screen. I’ve resolved this by updating the bios software.
The issue I have now is the pc will now just turn itself off after around 10 mins. I’ll then press the power button and it will click on and go off again about 1 second later. I’ll then have to unplug it for a period of time and then it will power back on again. (It’s like it resets itself) I’ve managed to install Windows last night because it managed to run for almost 30 mins.
I have moved the gpu to the second pci slot because it was mostly covering up the heat sink fan for the m.2 heatsink. I wasn’t sure with the heat of the gpu it was causing it to get too hot and causing it to shut down. Clearly this isn’t the case as it is still doing it.
The power supply I have is a AX760i by Corsair. This unit is 5 years old and has been flawless. I can’t believe it will be the power supply at fault all of a sudden. It’s not overheating as the fan inside isn’t spinning. It turned briefly when you power up the system.
I have checked all the connections on the Mobo. Taken them out and put them back in firmly and heard the click. I only have the 8 pins cpu power cable in and not the 4 pin as well as I do not have this cable. I read that this only needed to supply additional power when extreme over clocking.
I have the armoury and have the latest chipset drivers installed.
Please help. I’ve spent all this money and I am frustrated. I hope I don’t have any hardware failures.
Many thanks for your advice in advance.
