New PC faulty?

I wouldn't be surprised if I did do that, I'm an idiot with these things sometimes - but I'm definitely not pressed the power button, wouldn't that fully turn it off too? I didn't select an optical drive either, so I'm guessing no?

The eject button, if you had an optical drive, would be on the front of the DVD player itself (the ~1cm thick slot near the top at the front of the case). Any other button will be power or reset.

The top one of those is most likely a reset button, which is why things are turning off. If you didn't specifically spec a DVD drive, then you won't have one. On the product page you linked, you can click on the "optical drive" option and click on the samsung one. If you had a drive, the front of it would look like that.

As it is, you probably are just looking at a plastic blanking plate, which covers what would otherwise be a hole in the case for a missing dvd drive.

That explains it! If I buy one, are they easy to install? (for somebody that has no experience with this)

i cant recommend as ive not used one but they just plug in with a usb cable

if u want an internal one you would need to get a slimline drive for that case which would connect internally by the sata port

but if ya not comfortable goin inside ya case then either an exernal or find someone u know who could help ya locally

Get an internal one if you plan to use it regularly, go external if it's going to be occasional use.

It's not especially difficult to fit an internal one, but you may as well go external if it's infrequently used.

I'd get the cheapest one:
