New PC Final List ( Hopefully )

This is the motherboard,

http://www.msi.com/product/mb/Z68A-GD80--B3-.html

With two dual slot graphic cards in the top two blue 16X PCI-E slots the normal PCI slots in Black will be blocked, so theres no way of fitting your card.

S##T no. I like my TV on in the corner whilst I'm working, not gaming obviously.

Is there not a different MoBo in which I can fit my TV card and still have CrossFire?

I realize that means a new bundle, or separates, but I would really miss the TV.:(

And it's an almost brand new TV Card. B######S

Thats o.k. we can go in my fiat punto diesel, it does 60 miles to the gallon :D

I have also been to weston-super-mare, i worked on the B&Q build

Edit: NOOOO, now you tell us you have a PCI tv card :(
Looking at the picture of that MSI motherboard it seems that the gap between the top pci-e and the second pci-e slot is wide enough to use the top pci slot for the tv card

I mentioned the TV card a while back in this actual thread.

Oops, must have missed it

But, i do think your tv card will fit in. Off to bed now, us un-employed scousers can't stay up all night.

I am really happy with the choice of these 120hz monitors. One question I have not asked is, when you have a 3 monitor setup, do the two outer monitors have the be at an angle to the centre monitor. If so, is there an angle that is suggested or does it not matter. Also when you are doing normal work on the pc, word processor and browsing, that sort of thing, is it just on the centre monitor and is the 3 monitor setup only used for gaming or can you watch movies spread across the 3 screens. Sorry if this question is a little vague, but I have never seen a 3 monitor setup in real life, only on pictures. Also if I can, I want to put my Dual Tuner DVB-T TV PCI Card in the pc, will it work ok, as it did in my previous pc.

Here it is post 53 on page two.

Actually Kingy could be right, theres a single 1X PCI-E slot between the top blue 16X slot and the first PCI slot.

That's exactly what I was looking at, but what do I know.;)

I'll hold off placing the order until tomorrow. Hopefully I will get a more definite yes or no.

The last thing I want to be doing is returning stuff because I didn't find out if it was right before placing the order.

Anyway I'm off to bed now.

Night All.

Well I looked at some of the other P67/Z68 motherboards and the layouts seem to be roughly the same, one of the PCI slots is the same distance away from either of the two PCI-E slots.

Is there a link or picture of your TV tuner card? would be good to see if it will block/restrict a fan on a graphics card above it if its really big.

Hi Stulid.

I didn't think this was allowed but i can't think of any other way for you to see the TV card i want to install. Like i said, i already have this it was installed in my old pc and worked brilliantly with Media Centre. I won't get in trouble for this will I?

EDITED.......

Your right about that TV card, very small and also half height.

Hi.

Just before I place the order for what was originally specified I thought I'd throw this at you for your final comments.

The only two things that have changed are...

1) The 27" Dell Monitor for the Hazro Ultra-Sharp HZ30Wi 30" Monitor.

2) The Graphics Cards from 2 x Sapphire ATI Radeon HD 6950 2048MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card to
2 x MSI ATI Radeon HD 6950 OC Twin FrozR III Power Edition 2048MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card

Just tell me please if I am right, wrong or somewhere in between.

The sooner you can advise, the sooner I can place my order.

Oh, by the way. I already have the Silverstone RV02W-EW Raven 2 Evolution Windowed Case in White.

I could be wrong but i fancied the 30" Monitor. I would have loved to buy the 30" Dell, but just out of my reach financially, unfortunately.

Thanks.

graphics cards are great. the cooler will allow you to overclock them much further than the cards you originally chose.

i dont know much about monitors, but to my untrained eye i cant see anything wrong with it

you would be able to save a few quid by going down to the 750W PSU, as two 6950's dont take up too much power: http://www.anandtech.com/bench/Product/299
