Hello,

A friends' parents are looking for a new PC to be used for very basic tasks like browsing, emails etc. What do you think to the below? Where there are multiple parts I'm not sure which might be the best so I've picked the ones that jumped out at me.

My basket at Overclockers UK:

Total: £749.97
(includes shipping: £13.20)

Is it likely the G4560 will be back in stock soon?

Also I suspect they'll want a CD/DVD drive which OCUK don't seem to stock anymore, bit of a shame. They'll want OCUK to build it once the basket is decided on.

Cheers

wHY HAVE YOU PICKED TWO OF EVERYTHING? I would go for the super flower golden green PSU 350w as the savings will pay for themselves. ditch windows for linux mint, ditch 2 x m2 ssd for a single 1 or 2tb hard drive. With those savings you can go for an i3 .
Also 4gb is enough if they arent gaming .
GIgabyte and ASUS mobos.... hmmm ... I would plump for Asus but you could go for either with no worrys

I would go with a 2.5" SSD and save some money. For the PC's intended purpose it won't make any noticeable difference. My preference would be Gigabyte, as the have a UK RMA centre but either board is a solid choice.

I would also suggest the Superflower HX350W Golden green, although the XFX PSU you listed would be fine as well. The Silverstone unit is built by Sirtec/Sirfa who can be a bit hit and miss with their build quality.

Cheers Danny75 - yeah I saw that, I didn't realise all the improvements though, just spotted the lack of optical bay so closed the tab.
