Hey,

I've decided to get rid of my laptop, got an iPad and now I need a PC to use at home :). The plan is to have one monitor on my desk- probably a 22' lcd connected via DVI and also connect it to my 32' TV via HDMI. The purpose of this PC is mainly films, internet etc. generally no games. I looked at the FM1 platform and it looks pretty encouraging, especially the integrated graphic card that beats all others. So far I've worked this out;

CPU: AMD 3400 or 3500
Motherboard: no idea?
Memory: I'd probably only need 4gb, but maybe as one stick just in case, Corsair XMS3 4GB or Kingston HyperX Blu 4GB
HDD: not sure, is there any point in SATA3?plus an SSD in the future
PSU: Got my old chieftec 350w, will that be enough?

I'm open to all suggestion even changing it to Intel if it's better, thanks.

not really much to the system so the cheiftec should be fine, might look to upgrade it in the future to something more energy efficient/quieter.

not sure if you need a blue ray player, might be better going with the retail version if you don't have any blue ray playing software.

A friend of mine recommended me this Gigabyte, i know it costs more than MSI but maybe it's better to invest in a good quality mobo?Also I don't need a case, plus i don't need a blu-ray either,instead of these two i'm thinking about buying an SSD for Win7?

I would pick up a i3 really.

PSU is OTT, but can be changed to a cheaper Lepa / Corsair CX if you REALLY don't want gaming. Else the Lepa should be good for a 6870 or something like that.

Motherboard is too. Probably a H67 with the right video connectors. Dunno if you can dual-screen on IGP.

EDIT : Apparently you can.
