new pc for nephew help

hello guys my nephew needs a new pc for gaming and general homework etc

was just on ebay and came accross this beut

does it seem like a good deal? 10.4 ghz seems a lot for the price. :eek:

I wouldn't trust them. They don't even have a grasp on the basics, that's a 2.6Ghz CPU Quad Core. That does not add up to 10.4Ghz.

Also they don't specify a graphics card which means it probably doesn't have one so its not a gaming PC, which is what its described as.

Edit: Looking at pictures it has no graphics card for sure. Definitely not for gaming.

Firstly, im not sure OCUK will like that link.. You need to remove it..

Also, 10.4ghz isn't correct. Core speed x amount of core is a STUPID calcuation which means NOTHING. The core speed is 2.66ghz.. Which means the CPU is a Q9400 (i think): http://ark.intel.com/products/35365/Intel-Core2-Quad-Processor-Q9400-6M-Cache-2_66-GHz-1333-MHz-FSB

Thatsa very old CPU.. For gaming it will be USELESS, as it doesn't have a GPU. The on-board one is also rubbish.

To sell that at £280 and make any kind of profit he's going to be skimping on everything. Not worth it tbh. Go with Doomedspeeds suggestion, quality components and will outperform it while giving you the peace of mind your PSU won't blow up
