Hi folks!
I'm hoping you can help me with a problem i'm having with my new PC.
First off here's the spec:
CPU - Q9550
Mobo - Asus Striker II Extreme
GPU - 8800GTX
RAM - 4GB OCZ Reaper 1600
HDD - 500G Seagate 7200rpm
Optical - LG Blu-Ray/ HD-DVD reader& burner
PSU - Coolermaster 850W
Case - Coolermaster Cosmos S
OS - Vista Ultimate x64
And now onto the problem...
No matter what i'm doing it keeps freezing - but oddly only for a split second at a time before it continues as normal.
Sometimes it'll do it every few seconds, other times it'll only happen once every few minutes. It makes no difference what programs are running.
I've tried reformatting and reinstalling Vista, updating the bios, installing the latest drivers for the graphics card,
disabling cores 3&4 but nothing makes any difference.
Also run antivirus, antispyware etc.
Also noticed thar the CPU usage spikes on all cores during the freeze, and that it's the "SYSTEM" process using it. Even then it's
only using 10-20% so why it's freezing is beyond me.
Any ideas would really be appreciated as this is driving me mad!
