Depends what you define as dull graphics...
If you're talking the über-high quality 4k definition type of thing like Crysis, CoD or whatever, I personally tend to find those a bit lacking on the story and gameplay side. I got very bored with a lot of the shooty types.
The new Tomb Raider looks good, but again is quite dull and repetitive, especially if you've played any of the earlier ones.
For story, I loved Mass Effect and Assassins Creed.
But then I also 'get over' the lower end graphics quite easily and just get used to it, which allows me to focus on the gameplay. I still play Freelancer, which gives you a good idea of my tolerances, and I didn't even notice any improvement with the Skyrim texture add-on.
Also some new ones just about to come out, like the new Thief installment/reboot.
