Hi all,

looking for some guidance. I am new to PC building and no idea on hardware builds/components. I was wondering if £1500/£1700 is enough for a decent gaming rig? It will be purely used for gaming.

I will be gaming at 1440p as I dont believe my budget would allow for 4k. I dont need monitor etc just the PC
Any must have in build like WiFi, RGB , white cases ?

Gaming AMD x3d chips are the fastest but are silly prices like £450 to £500 and pre order would you be happy ton pay that money or get a cheaper CPU and upgrade later down the line.

Wifi is a must and bit of RGB would be cool as I like the AIO coolers with temperatures showing etc. I do like the
Lian Li O11 Vision Compact Black case. I am happy to wait for a pre-order CPU. Would the Rig be able to get upgraded in future?

Yes the rig would be upgradable , I've put a 7600cpu and a 4070super but if you want a x3d CPU drop the GPU down to a 4070 .

There are new GPUs to come in January if you can wait.

My basket at OcUK:

Total: £1,603.92 (includes delivery: £0.00)

This spec is well optimised for 4K (4070 Ti Super is 4K capable), so your budget is fine if that's what you want to do:

Oh are Antec cases good build quality
I used to buy them when Antec was a big thing many moons ago and the quality was fine, but I couldn't tell you beyond that.

and will be suitable for upgrades in future?
Kind of hard to answer that, what do you mean by upgrades?

A case is a case and they don't change much, most builds could fit in a 20 year old case, I'm still using some that are nearly that old :D

In terms of:
- Graphics card: 410mm is a really good size, I doubt there will be anything that doesn't fit, even if the 5090 is bigger than the 4090.
- CPU cooler height: 160mm, could be better, but popular coolers will fit and I assume Antec thought you would use an AIO in the roof anyway.
- PSU length: 240mm, that's big enough for a whopper, so no issue there.
- Airflow: 7x 120mm fans is more than good enough for any build.
- Connectivity: has a USB Type-C and x2 USB 3.0, so can't see a problem.
