Hi Guy's I have just purchased the following

ASUS P5WDG2 WS Professional i975X
Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 775, 2.4 GHz
1Gb XFX 7950GX2, PCI-E (x16), XXX, Mem 1550 MHz GPU 570 MHz
2Gb (2X1Gb) CorsairTwinX XMS2, DDR2 PC6400
Western Digital Caviar RE 320GB 3200YS SATA-II 16MB Cache
Antec P800 B Case I use the 4 internal fans one for the PSU one for the HD bays and the one at the top and rear of the case all running at the lowest setting extra quiet

Antec Phantom 500W Hybrid Fan Silent ATX2.0 PSU
Scythe Ninja Plus Rev.B Heatpipe CPU Cooler

I have curently used Asus AI overclock @ 30% stable
sys temp 30º cpu 42º - 44º

which gives me a stable 3.11GHz can anyone suggest how I can get even more power out of this baby? I have been looking at getting diffrent memory any suggestions welcome and the idea of getting two fast hard drives and running them in a Raid config should also help boost the spead again any sugestions much apretiated

Welcome to the forum, have a read of this guide on overclocking manually as you should be able to get a fair bit more out of your chip.

RAID 0 will make little difference to the overall speed of your PC to be honest. There will be little to gain from changing RAM either I would have thought.

Thanks

Thanks for the reply I was hopping to find someone who has tried to manualy overclock a simular system I did find and article somewhere where they had managed to get 4.2GHz (I will try and find it to post here) I followed the edits step by step but my system just hung so I went back to 30% my benchmark was only around 8650 I have seen people with lower spec systems get 11550 + either they are photo shoping their results or I am missing something! I did have an Abit AB8 with a 3.4 D cpu and to be fair the diffrence is very negligible yet everyone said the new Duo 2 chips would make all existing intel chips seem obsolete! I am yet to be convinced...

If anyone has a simular setup please share your experiance thanks

also surely if I upgrade my memory to say 2Gb (2X1Gb) Corsair TwinX DDR2 XMS2 Dominator, PC8500 I should see a speed improvement ? or am I missing something
