My old creaking system has finally packed up (its managed 5 years mind!)

Looking for a new cheapish system

Looking to spend about £600, mainly used for surfing the web and playing footy manager, as well as the odd other game.

I have been reading a lot of threads and trying to gather as much info from various sources and i am pretty set on a Intel Core 2 chip and ideally 2gb's of ram. Dont need a monitor/mouse/keyb.

Any help would be much appreciated on mobo and graphics card choice

Cheers

Jim

Tried to keep it as close to £600 as possible, pretty much 100% you will be able to get 2.8ghz out of it. You could get the Antec NSK4400 W/ 380w PSU if you want to save some money or any case depending on what you prefer. I went with the zen as it has 2x120mm fans and is actually very good for the price.

Wellibob's is a good spec, although about £120 over budget.

£700 + is pushing my limit to the max especially considering its mainly for internet surfing

Liking the look of your spec though

Cheers

Is that a quiet supply? or are they all rather low noise these days?

It isn't bad, if you can find one the Seasonic 430w are about the best silence wise and I only paid £10 more than that FSP for mine.

The case you spec'd isnt in stock

looking at Antec SLK1650B Black Quiet Mini Tower Case - 350W SmartPower PSU

will 350w be enough for the above rig?

Not looking at overclocking or any of that jazz
