Hey guys,

I’m having a bit of trouble at the moment. I've been asked to build a computer for my uncle and this is the build I came up with:

Processor: Core2Quad Q6600 G0 2.4Ghz with Freezer 7 Pro
Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-P35-D3SL
RAM: 2 x 1Gb OCZ 5-5-5-15 PC2-6400
Hard Drive: Samsung Spinpoint 500Gb
PSU: Hiper 530W
Graphics: 8800GT 512Mb
Disk Drive: Sony DVD Reader/Burner

Now, I received it all today, and have put it together, but am currently having a number of problems.

Firstly, the fan on the HSF doesn’t seem to function properly. When I press the power button, it twitches as if its trying to spin, and then after about 8-10 seconds starts up. All the other fans start up alright (IE. PSU, GFX, Case fan), but the CPU one is a bit dodgy.

Secondly, sometimes the screen doesn’t display. I’m using my 22" TFT, and when you turn it on, it checks for an analogue signal, then a digital, then repeats once and turns off. When my computer is plugged in, it will come on after checking the digital signal, as this is the DVI output. However, sometimes the new computer doesn’t do either and the monitor just turns off, even though the system is running. Turning the system off via the switch on the PSU and leaving it for a few minutes before powering back up usually sorts this.

Thirdly, if the screen displays, it will POST, and I can view the BIOS and everything seems fine. It detects both sticks of RAM, the CPU, etc. But then, the system will freeze. Just on the BIOS screen, and I will have to reboot to get rid of it. Iv never seen this before and have no idea why it does it.

I have also tried to get vista. After putting the CD in and asking it to boot from CD, it finds it and does the initial start up for Vista. I then get a BSOD (See Below.)

BIOS 1

Now as you may have guessed, I can't do a damn thing. Here are a few screens of the BIOS screens I can view.

BIOS 2

BIOS 3

Anyone got any idea what’s going on? Please help!

try booting with one stick of ram, then in bios increase the ram volts by plus .2

Oh for the fan, disable smart fan in the bios, starting off slow is normal.

ON the ram setting, take turbo off, and set to normal
