Getting a new PC this is the spec!
Can any one give me advice on changes?
would like to keep it around £400 Max £480

Gigabyte GA_P35_DQ6 - (£140.99)
Intel Core 2 Quad Pro Q6600 "Energy Efficient 95W Edition" 2.40GHz - (£187.99)
Arctic Silver 5 Thermal Compound (3.5g) - (£7.04)
Scythe Infinity Heatpipe CPU Cooler - (£29.36)
GeIL 2GB (2x1GB) PC6400C4 800MHz Ultra Low - (70.49)

This is a total of £446.38

i dont need HD or Gcard etc! just the barebone as such!

Well, if that's all you need it's a very nice spec. Although, are you sure you need quad-core? (It's General Hardware policy to ask.)

i am debating to go for C2D instead of Quad but i dont want to upgrade my CPU,MOBO or RAM for at least a year and with games starting to support multi CPU i was thinking of being one step ahead!!

I dont need a Gcard as i have a X850XT atm and next month will be upgrading that to a X2900XT!

You may want to look into the C2Ds if you have no specific reason for going quad-core. There are very few current games that actually support quad-core, but there will be some more additions to that list. The C2Ds are still very powerful processors, and if you go E6600+, maybe even into the 1333MHz range, you will have yourself something useful for quite a while yet (and, might I add, quite a few more notes in your wallet.)

i was looking at the E6600 as i see it Oc well!!
but seeing the new E6750 is 1333 and a tad cheaper and its 2.6 not 2.4
i might change the quad then as u said not much supports it yet and a few notes stay in my wallet! lol

also do u think the CPU cooler will fit into the motherboard? thats my main worry!

Unfortunately, I really don't know, and wouldn't want to mislead you. Maybe someone else can help you out on that one.
