Hi, I recently bought a PC:

Athlon64 Dual CoreX2 AM2 7750+ BLACK Edition
4gb ddr2 800mhz
Biostar gf8100 m2+se motherboard
650w psu

I am looking to buy a graphics card for the system, and was wondering what would be most suitable for this kind of set up. I would like to play recent games, but keep in mind I only have a 19" monitor.
After reading these forums, I started thinking about a 4770 or a gts 250 but I found a 4870 (1gb) for £119 with free shipping, would that be my best choice?

Also Any reason any of those cards wouldnt fit into a galaxy 3 case?

i have that case with a 4870 in it, if u have the hard drive at the same height theres no room for the cables, just managed to squeeze mine in tho.

another thing, i think i got my computer from the same place as u by the look of the image link, the psu i got diddnt have any pci-e connectors, and it died on me, assuming its the same one i had id think about upgrading that too

If thats true i'd be worried about the PSU not just for the connectors but wattage and ampage issues.

but if true i'd probably go for the 4850 or gtx 250(if it comes with molex to 6 pin connecter).

That's unfortunate, since it comes with a 450w standard and I payed extra for the 650w. If it doesnt have the connections required that will be quite annoying. Seems like the 4870 is worth the extra money over a gts 250 or 4770 then?

Tbh, a 4850 would do all games out atm, newer game would be on high, not very high, 4870 would do them all on very high but you might not get a dessirable frame rate at points in a game and the 4890 would do everything atm fine, but on a 19" mon you mayaswell go for a 4850 and save some money as you wont be able to make the most of the 70 or 90 for the extra money.
