finally built my new desktop pc but i have no optical drive for it and cant access the internet, i have the driver disks, is it possible to copy the files to a usb to download the drivers onto my new pc? what can i do?
thanks

Yes USB will work. USB Mass Storage drivers are a part of Windows.

Throw the driver disks away (or just store them in the motherboard box).
Using old PC, download latest drivers from manufacturer's website.
Copy & paste onto any USB flash drive.
Plug USB drive into new PC and install.

I'm not sure about vista, never used it, but win7 onwards natively has driver support for most ethernet adaptors. If it still doesn't work, use another computer, download drivers from website, copy to usb pen, stick usb pen in the other machine, you know the score

Throw the CD in the bin, it will have old drivers on it.

Go on another pc and download the ethernet driver from whoever makes the chipset for it.

IE..

Intel
Marvell
Realtek

Which motherboard is it?
