Hi all,

Ive just put together my new pc. Its the first build ive done.
Trouble is i go to boot it up and its not going into the bios from the splash screen.
On the D bracket lights 1 and 3 are constantly lit: Testing base & Extended memory.
No matter how many times i reboot, it just doesnt work.
All it does is go to a black screen when i press delete from the splash screen.

Spec:

Intel E6600
Msi p6n Platinum
2 gig Xms2 6400C4 (using 512mb stick for booting purposes)
XFX 8800 gts 320mb XXX
2 x 36gb (these were raid - 0 on my old rig)
Hiper 480W

I havent a clue where to go with this, any help greatly appreciated - Thanks

Have you double checked that the graphics card and ram are seated properly? Did u remember the 6pin power cable for the 8800?

hiper psu's are known for blowing up, id replace it asap. ( http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?t=17694588&highlight=hiper ) anyway id try just reseating everything and if it doesnt work then, get it replaced. if possible try the components on another machine.

edit: ill be suprised if this works but worth a shot - if your graphics card has 2 monitor plugs (i assume it does), try switching your monitor into the other one?

Could be any one of these things
Ram
Motherboard
PSU

Possibliy video card

I would say you need check each of those compents with kbown good ones if you can , i.e try one stick of ram at a time, try another PSU.
If ram, psu & video card check out ok then I would say you have a bad mobo in which case return it and get another one
