new pc not running

MSI B450 gaming plus Max
Ryzen 5 3600
1 stick (in dimmA2) Ballistix Sport LT Red 16GB DDR4-3000
M.2 500G 970 Evoplus
Gforce 1050 ti 4G

have it on a test bed.

cpu fan turns on, EZ debug cpu goes red for 3-4 seconds then turns off.

and nothing

No beeps unless I take the RAM out when i get three two second beeps and the EZ debug DRAM light, lights and stays lit

tried a MSI B450 tomohawk max with same results and tried a different power supply

used HDMI and DVI outputs differnt monitors and graphics card nada

memory is on the compatible list

so I am guessing CPU as board is supposed to support it out of the box as was Tomohawk max

so any ther ideas before I send it back?

Have you checked the ATX power is connected correctly? I know in some cases the pins can recede.
What about the 8pin EPS?

I've also had it in the past where the case shorts the motherboard out, so take it out and power it on the motherboard box and see what it does.

reseated them, that 24pin is a bugger to move, still nothing

tried two power supplys coolmaster 550w and a cosair 450w
both work on other PC just using the 24 pin and 8 pin connector on test bed so out of case

just tested the RAM in my other rig it booted so can rule that out

Tried loosening the CPU cooler a tad? Not sure which you have though, whether it's just pin style or screw style.

Could be CPU as you suspect, or motherboard. If motherboard is signalling a CPU issue might as well take its word for it, to begin with.
