First time my mates put a PC together himself, so ordered everything i told him to, and he put it altogether with me instructing him.

Came to the end, pressed the on switch, and nothing :(

Not even any lights on the mobo were coming on.
So i told him to test the PSU with the "jumping" method so he put the paper clip in and just tested it with a single fan, and the fan worked perfectly on its own.

Reconnected the whole thing, but still nothing, I'm honestly stuck on what to suggest, and unfortunately he doesnt have any spares to test anything with :(

Any help will be much appreciated <3

He's checked the connectors are all in many times.

I'll ask him to see if he can get hold of a multimeter.

Or too weak PSU and HD 57xx card, for example. Try to remove graphic and plug monitor to mobo (if integrated graphic chip), or to put something old or weak, like GeForce 7600 GT, or GT 210 :)
Maybe memory sticks are incompatible with mobo (if Asus) ?
With no spec it's hard to give good shot.

What are the full spec's of the system?
Is he sure he's connected the front panel correctly?
Also the 4 or 8 pin cpu power connected?

Sorry, here are specs:

Intel i5 650
MSI P55-GD55
1Gb Asus 5770
4Gb Corsair XMS3 Classic
Corsair 650TX

Will tell him to try these in the morning.

Shame that it didnt work first time, really puts someone off making a custom build.
Makes people go back to other mainstream manafacturers that are dire
