Hi, I am a bit out of touch at the moment as I am still running mobile AMD cpus in Abit NF7-S ver 2.0 motherboards. All 3 cpus in my machines run well at either 2500 or 2600 mhz so no complaints there.
After lots of playing around I cannot get Vista to install properly, probably because there is no support for the Nforce 2 chipset.
Time to upgrade and so the big question is AMD or Intel.
Looking to keep the comp for some time so will not be doing upgrades all the time like in the past.
Suggest summat that will keep me going that will work with Vista that I can play around with and will be reliable.
All recent comps have been running SATA drives in Raid 0.
I can afford some decent kit so looking to see a good performance difference compared to the mobile XP cpus in current use.

All thoughts appreciated, PeterT

The trouble with upgrading computers as I have been along this path over the last 8 years is that there is always something new just around the corner.
It is the same with cars, I nearly placed an order for a new golf R32 taking a year to make up my mind. People said wait for the new Audi S3 and so I did wait. I have to say that I am pleased that I did cos I ordered an S3 after just one test drive. Amazing!!
So, getting back to the thread, is September and AMD really the next big thing on the horizon??
Cheers, PeterT
