Hi guys, I’ve been reading in the background for many months now planning my newest pc. I know you get a million of these threads but I was hoping for a little advice from people far more knowledgeable than myself before I go and spend what is for me at least a heck of a lot of money on my new pc. My primary reason for buying a new pc is for flight sims, Id love to max out the DCS series and FSX with many demanding photorealistic add-ons. Il also be playing shooters and other games but most importantly using it as an everyday pc for playing music and surfing the web etc. I have a 24" iiyama 1920 x 1080 monitor and a pretty decent sound set up compromising of an Onkyo amp with 5.1 speakers. Im not too clued up but im not a total plum either so I will appreciate any opinions or advice. Here is my planned set up so far, i went with the GTX 670 and put the saved money towards a bigger SSD to put all the scenery etc on as im not sure the 680 is worth the extra money for me atm and I’ll probably update the card in 18 months or so and start thinking multi monitors then anyway....

Xigmatek Elysium
Intel core I7 3770k hopefully overclocked to about 4.5GHz
Be quiet! Dark rock pro v2
Arctic silver 5 thermal paste
Sabretooth Z77 motherboard
8GB corsair vengeance 1600mhz DDR3 (2x4gb sticks)
Nvidia GTX 670 (not sure which but im thinking the Asus Direct cu II top )
240GB Corsair Force 3 SSD
1TB Seagate barracuda
Samsung blu ray drive
Corsair CX 750w (if cx will suffice, maybe an tx or hx would be better?)
Creative sound blaster X-fi Xtreme audio pci express
Windows 7 home premium 64 bit

Anyway, iv spent months saving and planning for this and im finally ready to buy a rig that will hopefully fly! All advice is very welcome although im about at my budget now, i may be able to stretch a little bit more if it is absolutely necessary?

Thank you in advance.

hey, thanks for the quick replys and the welcome, i am going for the black vengeance indeed. RCJ, may I ask wjhat bennefits the different parts you have suggested may offer? I thought Id choose some pretty good hardware so far, I agree on the Psu though, i think the upgrade is needed for this kind of spec.

Many thanks.

Yeah, you normally get it bang on every time, you been drinking?:p

I clicked the wrong PSU, I would have clicked the modular version, did not realise the 2 Corsair PSU's were the same price!

Memory went with the cheapest, Bluray, not much to choose from on Ocuk, I would have added the Retail version.

I think I need one! :p

No probs, The main reasons is performance and items chosen get good reviews, along with the Gigabyte Motherboard and GPU (Currently use the GPU in my system with a Gigabyte Z68 motherboard) Gigabyte also offer UK RMA.

Some reviews:

Ahh I see, thank you for all of the advice. Iv kind of set my heart on the set up I posted however, Iv spent a long old time planning it and saving etc. Can anyone tell me if it is a good set up for my rig and also which version of the 670 will fit in best with all the other bits and bobs?

Many thanks.
