I can't make up my mind weather to get a Next gen console or a new pc.

My current rig is seriously old

Antec Fusion V2 MATX MediaCenter Case - 430W PSU

E2220 2.4GHz Overclocked @ 3ghz

Gigabyte GA-G31M-S2L iG31 Socket 775 mATX

OCZ 2GB (2x1GB) DDR2 800MHz/PC2-6400

8800gt 512mb

I have a case, monitor, OS and hardrives i can salvage but will need everything else.

Its been soo long since i was update with components so literally have no idea. I can budget £5-600, What sort of rig can i build with that? isit worth upgrading or isit better value to go with a next gen console?

Round of applause to everyone spec'ing ATX mobos when the case is mATX and tower coolers sure as hell won't fit in it ;) Are the HDDs and Optical drive sata or IDE? IDE has been dropped from modern mobos.

You really need to check the specs of your case i.e the max length allowed for a GPU and the height of coolers allowed. This 270X is external exhaust so the heat isn't being dumped inside the case, it comes with BF4 to help sweeten the deal too. A modular PSU will make cable management so much easier....OCZ are a company in financial trouble so I won't be buying their kit.

If there are exclusive games you want to play on consoles then get a console but you have to factor in the yearly subscription to play games online.
