Hi, I recently got some new parts for my pc. Got a new mobo which is the Gigabyte 890GPA-UD3H. I have 4gb ram 2x2gb. 965 phenom II cpu.

point is my computer wouldn't boot up. would not even get to the screen to let me go into the bios. So I took out my graphics cards. And then tried switching around the ram in different slots and that didn't seem to work.

Then all of a sudden I left it for a while and I saw the light come on my tv and my pc booted up.

But before I had my graphics cards in and sometimes it booted and sometimes it didn't, when it did boot up I would get a BSOD even if I just left my pc IDLE for like 30 mins.

PSU is Coolermaster 700W

I went ahead and put my graphics cards in and it booted up again, now this issue isn't solved because before it booted up I was getting blue screens, and then my pc wouldn't turn on again.

Edit: Getting blue screens again, one of them had an error called Atikmpag.sys

So is your pc working now hardware-wise ? If so you going to have to reinstall windows on that new motherboard or install the chipset drivers for it, i'm guessing the blue screen is because windows is trying to use the old motherboards chipset drivers or you have changed the sata mode to AHCI mode or AHCI/RAID or to IDE. It needs to be set to what the last motherboard was using for the SATA harddrives or it will not boot into windows and blue screen.

I would always reinstall windows if I made such a major change like a motherboard, because you really are asking for trouble in many forms as you have noticed. So I would backup any data from the OS drive 1st , try using a linux disk or take the drive to a working machine and copy over what you need.

If you can write down the blue screen error or take a picture of it we can help you more with that. But honestly if the hardware is fine now reinstall windows and save yourself any other surprises that will crop up when you change motherboards on a windows install that was on a different motherboard.

Atikmpag.sys is the graphics card, do you still have an ati graphics card installed in that machine ? Or have you recently changed the graphics card too ? If you have changed the video card go into safe mode remove the video card drivers, restart then go back to normal startup and re-install the graphics drivers. If you also now are using the an nvidia card instead of an ati card, remove the ati drivers in safe mode and use ccleaner to clean out the registry and system of usless registry and files. Don't use driver cleaners some have a nasty habit of damaging the registry more. Keep it simple at first make sure to do things in logical steps and get a stable sytem then try driver cleaners if you have to remove every invalid entry from your system.

It bluescreened when i was typing a message, and wouldn't boot up after. Only the fans worked but it would not boot into the bios, so I decided to take everything out and try put it in again, My cpu cooler was bust as well so I put the stock one back on. Now It boots up and I get into the bios and it freezes. Is the motherboard ******** the bed? Pretty sure the cpu is fine.

I didn't have the graphic cards in at the time either, I was just using the onboard graphics.. So yeah now it just locks up :S

Before It didn't even post, could the motherboard be shorted somewhere?

Update: Just tried booting up my computer and got into the bios, changed the settings to default and then changed my ram settings to manual, and my pc booted up and so far it hasn't crashed. Or BSOD Yet. I have not put the graphics cards in yet tho.
