Hi guys im looking to build a new PC.

Currently im on: -

ABIT IT7 Max2 mobo
2.8gig Northwood P4
Leadtek Geforce 4 ti 4600
sb audigy 2
2gig Geil value DDR (initially 512meg Corsair)

Its lasted me since 2002 and was built to OC but not really kept it going as i had one of the OCuk Wind farm Cases and the noisiest heatsink cooler ever with it :-)

I am hoping to get around £700 to spend (possibly more so a spec of up to £1000 would be accepted as an option). What would you reccomend in the current market.....

I may wait for the new Intel and AMD chips to be released and may possibly wait till the new Graphics cards are released at the end of the year. However if a spec jumps out at me that will last me another ohhh 3-4 years then i will gladly purchase now :-)

Forgot to mention its mainly for gaming so graphics card mobo and processor would be the main things im concerned about....

well i would say to go intel as they are more sophisticated for their design, intel have a lead over amd for their chips and i see them to produce better performing chips, however i dont know if thats the case until amd release their new line of processors.

I would hold off till the end of this year for the new graphics cards if im honest, thats what im doing as i have the same sorta budget and i was going to spend £300 on a graphics card. right now there are not many games which take advantage of Directx 10 so hold off a little longer for UT3, ETQW and Crisis
