Just built a new system and putting an existing HDD into it (already has Windows/etc installed on it).
But I'm getting "Windows failed to start. A recent hardware or software change might be the cause."
The bad news is; I don't have a Windows Vista disc to repair installation (although I could download).
The even worse news is; formatting the HDD is the very very last resort.
Any suggestions?
Is it possible to upgrade the Windows Vista to Windows 7 without losing all pre-existing programs and files on the HDD ?
