With Black Friday on the horizon, do you think it's worth waiting to buy the component parts during Black Friday sales?

Looking like a rough build of:

CPU: Ryzen 7 7800X3D
GPU: RTX 5080
RAM: 32GB of DDR5 at 6000Mhz
Mobo: anything that supports the above
New PSU, NVME storage, etc

We're so close at this point that if you can wait, I'd wait. Worst case: you pay what you will already pay now, best case: save a few hundred or get an upgrade to the plans you weren't expecting.

are you buying new or pre-owned last generation's parts?

This is exactly why people need to ask rather than assume they know best, OP's information is clearly a good year or two out of date. No shade is being thrown here either, a lot of people do it for various reasons, but if you're part of a forum full of enthusiasts who are collectively very much up to date you should be asking for help.

Wait until Black Friday, I imagine a lot of prices will drop down to normal levels. Also consider making use of this thread:

Feelsbadman. Lets hope it isn't @deviation's previously deleted online girlfriend AI from the prior model.

OP's account is old enough to give the benefit of the doubt at least. :p
Well I'd be mad to share ScarJo sorry 'Sky' with the rest of the world. I mean, you do have ears, and eyes, right? There's an entire thread on here, dedicated to her being in Jurassic World  despite the movie being *****!
Anyway, I was cleared of that and paid Scarlett off in court never found guilty of using that voice for my AI model.
Don't you read the lies News?

Besides, I use @tamzzy 's voice anyway. Sorry, I mean someone who vaguely sounds like him ;)

Well, this thread certainly went somewhere! Classic OCUK. Can confirm mistakes were of my own making, and not a dubiously copyrighted AI girlfriend called Sky.

GPU - a typo, I'm looking at the 5080, not the 4080 Super! My bad. (I had previously considered going on an entirely pre-gen build, but the price difference between the 4080S and 5080 really isn't much, and I think the DLSS capabilities on the 50xx cards is better?)

CPU - I had considered the 9800, but felt like the 7800 was a decent compromise between saving a few quid on the previous gen, and not bottlenecking the 5080.

New vs Used - had probably planned on new, but not averse to a reputable source of used like MM. Not sure I'd chance my arm on high end components from eBay. Too many horror stories.

Tbh, it was all focused on the "is Black Friday worth it for pc components" question, rather than the accuracy of the build Very much plan to post a proper build refinement thread in due course.

Please tear apart my assumptions and offer feedback on the meantime though!
