Hi all.
Just built the following, it all went rather smoothly - to smoothly it seems.
E6600
Asus P5N-E SLI
BFG 8800 GTS 320MB
Corsair 620W
Vista Home Premium 32Bit
When I shut the computer down after using it you can hear the drives etc. power off. However the fans on the graphics card? and processor? stay on and the power LED on the case and do not seem to switch off. Now I have heard that on some PSUs/Mobos this is a feature to keep cooling the computer properly but I do not think my system supported this?
Also I have enabled speedstep so that when I am just browsing hopefully we will save some power. When I look at the resource viewer used though it appears to stay at 66%+. How can I configure this to go lower?
Also I am using the on board sound at the moment. A workmate has suggested slotting in a soundcard instead? Is this worthwhile and would and old soundblaster live 1024 do the job?
Is there anything else worth tweaking to get more efficiency?
