Had some geat advice here in October last year and as a result, waited to do a new build, pushed my E6400 a little higher and bought a new graphics card (went to a 9800GT, from a 7800GS this was a wonder).

Now CPUs have settled a bit I am looking, finally, to do a new build. I might wait and see if the AM3 CPUs come down a bit but I wondered whether these bits would sit together ok and whether any other bits would work better.

Main PC use, gaming, web work, light PSing. Don't mind a little overclock. Happy to build my own (with the help of strong drink).

Advice appreciated.

Thanks guys :)

BigBC that looks a good setup.

I do fancy the 193 as a case, I've got a Lian Li for my other build.

I was after the soundcard as I run most music from my PC, but I do have an XFi in my current box so I might use onboard for that and swap it into my new build. I've read good things about that card though.

Good points on the graphics, probably get more performance from ATI. I had a bit of a moment with two different 4850s which is why I lurched towards a BFG and a lifetime warranty but bang for buck wise I guess an ATI is the way to go?

Is the better Gigabyte board worth the extra? I do plan a modest overclock (as I have on my current box) but nothing in the way of what many people here would do.

I was looking at the pre overclocked bundles, would anyone recommend them?

Thanks Pakjai too, I shall certainly wait and see what happens with prices as I am not desperate to build this.

Great, thanks.

I have a set of these

but I think I will take my Xfi out of my other box and save a few quid there!

I understand the basics of overclocking, having practiced on my current CPU, so I can save the money I'd theoretically spend on an overclocked bundle and put it towards the motherboard.

I shall go off and read some 275 reviews.

Really helpful, thanks.
