Hi all,

I’m new around here I ordered a pc from Overclockers pre built so it came in the box ready to switch on once I took the protective packaging out,

It got delivered Thursday after getting my room setup etc and a new screen and keyboard I got around to turning it on to install windows today,

For some reason the pc won’t power up the lights on the keyboard light up and the usb lights up but when I hit the power button the motherboard and fan lights flicker like they are about to do something and then nothing any help would me much appreciated.

It’s an AMD Ryzen 7 2700x
Gigabyte X470 Aorus ultra gaming motherboard
Cooler master liquid lite 120
Team group Vulcan Tforce 16gb 2x8gb
Evga supernova G3 750watt 80 plus gold
Kingston 480gb SSD
Seagate 1TB harddrive
Palit Geoforce RTX 2060 Storm X 6114MB
Kolink aviator case

I’m not great with computers that’s why I had it pre built so I’m hoping someone has some help for me,

Iv tried unplugging all the wires but the power and that doesn’t work Iv changes the plug it’s plugged into and still nothing

Hi, welcome to the forum.

Presumably it's not overclocked? Because my first suggestion would be to take out the battery (marked in pic below) for 10 minutes before popping it back in. That would also remove any OC settings. Turn the PSU switch off and hold down the start button for 10 seconds before trying this, to drain system of power.

It is literally straight out of the box Would it be overclocked from factory? So take all wiresoutremovebattery for 10 mins the power up for 10 seconds do I not out the battery back?

Ahh tbh makes sense lol that’s why I had it pre built so nothing went wrong, was just hoping I was being a moron instead of waiting until tomorrow to get in touch with them

It won't be OC'd if you didn't ask for it, or purchase something advertised as OC'd.

Turn power supply switch off. Hold down the PC's start button for 10 seconds to drain power. Then remove the battery for 10 minutes. Pop it back in after that, switch PSU back on, and try starting it up again.

Sometimes there's a bit of power left in the system and then it gets transported and can do funky things. Taking battery out is a safe and easy thing to check.

This is all that happens

start with the basic's, reset bios, remover ever unneeded plug from the motherboard and from the back i/o (unneeded is sata, fans, hdmi, usb's and so on)
remove all but 1 stick of ram and remove the GPU.

basically mobo > CPU > 1 ran stick > power cables > power button cable. remove everything other than then.

you could have a bad fan, you may have pluged your case power LED in thr reset pins and so on... so start from the minimum needed then add to it into you have a failed boot

start with the basic's, reset bios,

That's already done, by taking out the battery.

It's a prebuilt and it wouldn't start from the beginning. Best method would be to remove those coloured wires (Power, Reset etc) in the bottom-right of the motherboard completely but mobo lacks a start button and taking a screwdriver to the board area to short pins to start it up is not something I would do in his situation.

I wouldn't do much more at this point, other than trying one stick of RAM, reseating RAM. OcUK don't put a warranty void if removed sticker on the side panel but you don't want to breadboard the whole thing given it's a newly arrived prebuilt either. Would be different if he'd put it together himself.

Thanks for the help guys I’m not gna go rooting inside of it for the money I paid, was just hoping that I was being dumb is all and I forgot to do something with it being Sunday couldn’t call them straight away.

No worries anyhow I’ll ring them in the morning

Thanks guys again much appreciated

guys, seriously...
op says he bought a prebuilt as he's not great with building a pc.
getting him to faff around inside and potentially damaging something is not the best idea.

@Deemzy23HD send it back to ocuk for diagnosis and rectification.

Little update I drove to Overclockers and dropped the pc at 9am it was sorted by 10:30 amazing customer service, the CPU has come loose in transport so the removed and reseated it and woop it fires up drove it home and it’s all working :)
