Ok built lots of machines but never had this problem before....

MB is a gigbyte ga p35c ds3r

4gb of ocz 1066 ram (but same issue if only using 2gb)

radion sapphire 3450 with 512mb pcie

6600 quadcore 2.4, running it at 2.4

original windows xp/sp2, but tried 'others' to same effect

pinnacle 3010ix dual dvb/hybrid tuner

800w psu, custom built case.

Built this and first xp install went fine, until I came to shutdown windows, and noticed no standby option, was grayed out.

did not worry, installed all drivers, standby icon was then selectable.

I tried everything, all seemed fine, went into standby, move mouse, came out of standby.....

So I stupidly thought all was ok, I changed the power saving options to save power, as running it as a htpc mostly but in day as a net box/games console

found out a few days later when it missed some recordings that its only fine if in standby for less than about 20 seconds (in s3 mode).

If I leave it too long, when i move mouse/ click kb MB/drives power up, but keyboard lights just flash once every few seconds, display says it has sync but blank screen.

I tried S1 standby, similar effect but I can stay in standby longer, maybe 30-40 seconds before it cant come back.

sometimes instead of a black screen i get a reboot

hibernate is also unreliable

when machine is fully on, its lovely and stable and runs everything as though nothing was wrong..............

Spent last two weeks many hours a day trying different driver combination's of provided ones and latest ones.

idea's please, because something is faulty and i have tried 3 other local 'professionals' ......

I bought all this kit from one place to work together, so if it wont, its not suitable for the purpose intended and can all go back, I don't have the time and patience anymore for manufacturers who don't grasp 'compatibility'
