Hi guys,
been prowling these forums for a while now and finally decided to post.
I'm looking to buy a new PC over the next couple of months and was wandering what you all though of this spec:

4 x BitFenix Spectre Plain BLACK 120mm Fan £5.99 (£23.96)
Total : £657.47 (includes shipping : £10.50).

Planning on overclocking the CPU to around 4.5 hence the 2500k choice, plus it's on offer this week.
I'll be buying the mobo and CPU on Friday and the rest on payday next month.

I've got a 560ti in my old computer which I will use for until around July when I will be buying a new one (selling my old computer to my brother so will need the gfx card at some point).
For that I was thinking either the 6850 or the 7950, which would you recommend?
Also, what fan controller would you receommend for around £30?

The mobo and CPU will be around £320 with Saturday delivery and my budget next month will be £400-500.

Thanks

i take it the first gfx card is a mistype and should be a 7850, not 6850 ?, i'd go for the 7850 will do a nice job.

have you looked at the Zalman Z9 Plus case, comes with a built in fan controller.

Thanks for the quick replies.

Stulid - I was thinking about the 3750K as it was the same price as the 2500k, but after reading some views on these forums, thought i'd go with the 2500k whilst it's dropped in price.

mp260767 - Yes sorry I meant the 7850, would crossfire with two of these be better than the 7950?
I've seen the Zalman but not really my taste and heard that it lets lots of dust in?

That is true, while the 2500K is on offer you wont be missing much over a 3570K (HD4000 vs 2000 GFX and PCI-E3.0 mainly)

Cheers Stulid. I like the look of the first controller you recommended. I'm guessing that it will work with the Bitfenix fans I chose?

I'm kind of torn between the Shinobi with a seperate controller and an NXZT 410 which has one built in, which come out at around the same price, but not sure which to get.

I was thinking of 1 in the front (1 already included), 2 in the top and 1 on the side. Sorry, this is only my 2nd proper build, will I not need that many fans?

I dont think you do, I personally would add two at the most if I was buying that spec.

with stulid on this, start with 2 and see how your air flow works, more fans you add the noisier the system will get.

personally i go for the best single card i can get at the time, then it always leaves the option to double up at a later date if needed.

Thanks guys, ill probably end up buying 4 fans anyway cos my brother doesnt like led fans so will have to replace the ones in my old computer anyway.

I'll pick the 7950 and get another one later in the year then.

Thanks

Due to me getting more money than I though I would this month, I've decided to buy all of the computer now. One question though before I buy, would the 750W power supply be ok with 2 7950s, an SSD, 2 HDDs and bluray drive?

just done a quick test on that for you and it recommends 655w so 750w should be fine (i have included your 4.5Ghz OC and Xfire 7950s ETC) if your budget can stretch id maybe go for this to be on the safe side http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CA-000-XF&groupid=701&catid=123&subcat= , its on offer this week and seems like a good buy :) i think you may want to get your black belt in cable management though is it is semi modular not modular as stated ;)

I was thinking of getting the XFX originally. Will get that instead, it's only £10 more after all. I'm pretty bad at cable management but gunna give it a good try :p

Delivery came this morning, was getting all excited until I realized one thing... the case hadn't been delivered!! Not very happy.
Rang OcUK up to ask what happened and was told it was missed off the shipping order and will be redelivered on Monday.

Not too pleased as obviously I can't go ahead with my build until it gets here!!
