Thats looks compatible.

But a orange+black board with that colour case?

What CPU cooler?

This SSD is on offer today - https://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=HD-191-SA&groupid=701&catid=2104&subcat=2394

Have you seen the CPU+board bundles - https://www.overclockers.co.uk/productlist.php?groupid=701&catid=6&subid=2858

In addition to these suggestions/ideas, the G1 EVGA PSUs aren't particularly good internally and in terms of electrical performance also

Look at the EVGA G2, XFX, SuperFlower units instead which are all superior

If you wait, AMD will also have a 300 series out in June around Computex time and Nvidia will supposedly counter with a GTX980ti which is a TitanX with half the ram supposedly.

Looking at the current price of the 295X2 it has been lower quite a few times.

Broadwell will also be out about then, Skylake after that along with a new chipset+socket.

Waiting for Skylake might be too long a wait, ya don't want to be waiting for new parts forever. But waiting till June is a good idea since a bunch of new stuff releases, including Broadwell-C and new GPUs that would probably be a better bet than the 295x2. I bet the 390X would be right up your alley ;) I'd also recommend the Samsung 850 Evo 250GB SSD (on offer for 9 more hours as of this post), one of the best reliable brands and great performance.

Current spec in sig is wrong

running a e8400 on a Gigabyte GA-P31-DS3L Intel P31 (Socket 775) PCI-Express DDR2 Motherboard
4 gb ram
ati 3780 512mb
480w psu {tagan}

Is there a cheap Gfx card I could get as a stop gap which would inprove my games (wow & guild war2)?

thanks

GTX750 ish card.

R7 260X.

You could also buy a SSD and carry it over to a new build, adding a SSD to an old system like that will make it feel like a new PC.

Thanks again

Looked at r7 cards but was unsure if suitable with MB and PSU
Breathing life in my system enable me to upgrade parts monthly instead of buying it out right on the never never.

Plan
SSD x2
Case psu
MB Ram Chip
Gfx
customization of cooling

R7 cards and the GTX750 are all low power.

It would be nice if you can find something cheaper and used such as a 7850.
