Good Morning All

Im new on here and this is my first post. Having used a Mac for the past 12 years I'm in need of an update. Prior to using the Mac I used a PC and was big into online gaming. The Mac kinda put a stop to that.....

Anyway I'm now in the market for a new PC. Since I've been out of the loop for a while on specs I'm looking for some advice. I'll probably opt for a built machine rather than build my own to take the hassle out.

Options and opinions would be greatly appreciated.

Below is one option but with most Overclockers builds they use koolink psu which I would get them to change to a corsair rm psu.

Add a decent air cooler for the cpu also.

Monitor 1440p but check reviews.

Would you say that the general consensus currently, is that it's cheaper to build yourself, opposed to build to order?

Going to throw in an option if you do decide to build yourself.

With the high price of gpu's a pre built systems often offers good value with the the big plus of a 3 year warranty , plug in and play.

You should look at a comparable pre built system with the listed parts above to compare.

A bit over budget, and sure can actually swap some stuff(case/nvme etc) to make it cheaper, but here's a 3080 build. Now that the 5600X dropped in price, it's back to being competitive, and the B550 edge board is great, with excellent vrm's so runs cool. The case comes with 3 fans that cost over £50 by themselves, and the aio is a 280mm on offer also. You could swap to a different case and air cooler and save a bit
The crucial nvme is on offer, is gen 4 and only slightly slower than a WD SN850. The 2nd slot for nvme on the board would be gen3 only, but you could get a SN550/SN570 down the line as a 2nd drive to store all your games on. The psu RM850X is a great unit, 10yrs warranty etc
Ram 32gb 3200C16 rgb is cheaper than the non rgb RAM for some reason, but not going to argue with that. you could go corsair for £130 odd and tie in the rgb with fan etc with iCue software
As for the case, put it in there as has positive review and is well made, but just did a check and the 5000X (£184 on OCuk) is on offer elsewhere with free delivery for £127. It's the case I have and is excellent imo. Plenty of space to expand etc

just an idea showing that a 3080 is in reach with a bit on tinkering...also haven't had a look around to see prices elsewhere
