Thank you for the explanation! Would it be worth waiting couple months for the AMD prices to go down/ closer to Christmas ? And how long would this build last before needing upgrade ?
Looking at this build it looks like she’s gonna have a better PC than me
The build is last gen, so prices have already dropped a lot compared to when they were current
AMD Navi 22, 2600 MHz, 2560 Cores, 160 TMUs, 64 ROPs, 12288 MB GDDR6, 2250 MHz, 192 bit

Chose the 6750xt as comparable to a 4060ti in perfomance, but it's cheaper and also has 12gb of vram, whereas the 4060ti only has 8 or 12gb(but then they're over £400). It's plenty fast enough for 1440p gaming, and the 12gb vram should help it's longevity. to get better performance for £300, you'll be going 2nd hand again..
As for the 5600x, it's a 6 core cpu, and if you can get one 2nd hand for £50 or so will be an excellent buy. enev buying new sub £90(seen this evening) is good, but with people upgrading to am5, plenty about 2nd hand if you want to chance it...only if you or your girlfriend get a bit more serious is it worth upgrading down the line to a 5800x3d....or of course you could save some more now and get the 5700x3d..that's just dropped to £189...I'm just trying to keep to your budget
the mobo is more than enough, and the x3d cpu don't draw too much power either, so the tuf wifi II board will handle anything...2nd hand seen boards around £60/£70, but seeing as the mobo is the body of your pc, I prefer them new, to an extent
the ssd is a 7400/6500 read/write with a 1000tbw endurance, so is about as good as it gets for a gen 4 drive..at £60 it's already on offer. It's 1tb, but enough for a few games, but will last for future upgrades/builds, and you can always buy a 2nd m.2 in the future..the b550 board main m.2 slot is pcie4, but the 2nd slot is pcie3 to be aware..that's the downside of b550 boards..to get 2 pcie4 m.2 you'll have to go x570 boards and they're more expensive
to go current gen, you'd be looking at a 7600 cpu (£188), though does come with a stock cooler though I'd still get the freezer 36 personally....you'd need a b650 mobo such as a tuf gaming wifi for £169(you could wait for the new am5 boards to come out..have seen some current ones sold £120-£140 area..actually just seen the tuf gaming wifi one for £140..bought for abuild, never used, pick up only) and ddr5 6000c30(ideal) ram for around £110 if you want rgb...you can get slower stuff for £90 with no rgb etc....
but of course your budget creeping up all the time
below shows you performance of a 5800x3d vs a 13600kf, 12700k and 13400f...one reason I chose am4 for build...5600x will prob be on a par with the 12400F tetrus put in above
idea of performance you can expect with 5600x and 6750xt at 1440p max settings...you'll be able to increase that now with fsr also
