Actually, just watched
@mickyflinn ...pretty well explains itall so below not needed, as is the way i did it. I'm a bit lazy so on an old version now, but it works, so not messing with it..i did the bios update to make sure the 7800x3d cpu worked without frying, but boards now should have a more up to date version than that
just see what bios you're on 1st before messing around. if a new board you should be on fairly recent one anyway, or are you putting a 9000 series cpu in? and require the newest
However if you really want to do it, below is way I did it
Get a usb stick. Below is link to new bios for board
The ROG Strix B650E-E Gaming WiFi is a future-ready B-series beast, featuring 16 + 2 power stages, hyperspeed DDR5 memory, and next-gen PCIe® 5.0 connectivity. It features four M.2 slots with heatsinks, USB 3.2 Gen 2x2 support, WiFi 6E, AI Cooling II, AI Networking, Two-Way AI Noise Cancelation...
rog.asus.com
download the bios you want....(they'll be listed by date) and extract file, and put onto the usb stick...make sure it's not in a sun directory or anything .remember to rename it SB650EE.CAP. Stick it into the pc with board you're updating, boot it up. Hit F2 or Del when the asus logo comes on(actually tells you that on screen also).
Got to the easy flash section on bios(had to watch vid as not at home yet...so tools/easyflash..)...you'll get an option to install new bios...if you hit that it'll search and you'll see the usb and click file name, and then install...(if you're unsure, and want to wait a few hours till i get home, I can throw up some pics if that's easier for you , but vid is pretty self explanatory)
at this point DONT TOUCH ANYTHING and let it finish
once done it'll tel you and say it needs to reboot....click ok, pc reboots, and you're done
there's a bios flashback button on the back also, but i prefered to go through bios...at least you can see what you're doing and you can see it install
