Background: I currently use these cheap earbuds. I'm not an audiophile, these are perfectly adequate quality for me, I don't like much bass. I use them when walking around and like to hear my surroundings. I'm very temperature sensitive so can't have anything that heats up my ears.

I've upgraded my phone and don't have a headphone jack anymore, rip.

I bought this adapter but it's really bad, sound crackles and cuts out often like there's a bad connection.

I looked more closely at other products and their reviews, but they must be mostly fake reviews as the products are highly rated on average despite having lots of 1* reviews with the same problem I have.

So what's the way forward here?

Is there such a thing as a good usb-c to 3.5mm adapter?

Do I have to get bluetooth headphones? Are there any products like my current earbuds that connect via bluetooth?

Been using Anker Bluetooth soundsbuds for years, good sound, waterproof and will priced. Unless you already have good 3.5mm headphones may as well just get wireless ones

Really have no idea the fascination with doing away with the 3.5mm headphone socket - it hardly takes up any space especially if using certain sockets...

Don't mess with what works I say.

(If people want to use BT, etc. that is another matter)

Apple. My lightning to 3.5mm adapter has worked perfectly for years

Here's a usb c to 3.5mm one...

I now mainly use Apple airpods (the 1st edition longer ones) The convenience of no cable and ease of use far outweights better audio quality of some more expensive cable earphones. I went through many Sennheiser, Sony and other earphones over the years ranging from £10 - £300.

Apple Airpod audio quality is great, not fantastic but but good enough. I don't know why anyone would choose not to have bluetooth earphones now a days. (Unless using some cheapo brand where the connectivity and battery life is rubbish) I take them out the case, put them in my ears, open spotify and they're connected. There should be no need to mess around manually connecting or opening bluetooth devices or other settings.

Headphones, that's another matter and have Beyerdynamic DT1770s for home listening.
