Looking for experiences on which high end new phones have good battery life.

Thinking in terms of iPhone 8, Pixel 2, Note 8, OnePlus 5... etc.

Currently have a Nexus 6P, and even after replacing the battery once, am ending up carrying a portable USB with me all the time.

My girlfriends iPhone 6 routinely outlasts mine. And she is a heavy phone user herself.

So anyway, recommendations appreciated!

How often will you use the S-Pen?

If the answer is not very often, then you're much better off with the Galaxy S8+ and saving yourself £150 or so in price difference.

Good point, probably not very often!

The Pixel 2 has too many issues to even bother buying, in a few months expect to see many refurbished ones hit the market. Just some of the issues include easy bending (plastic antennae lines), at critical bend points, OLED panel is poor quality at low brightness, OLED panel is not very uniform on plain colours, NFC chip whining reported, back is easily scratched, power button is plastic, over time this will wear etc etc etc. You're also getting the bare minimum specs for the maximum price.

Damn, didn't realise the issues were that common and far ranging.

The S8+ has proven battery life, and will retain its battery life over the course of your ownership. Samsung claim 5% loss after 2 years, and Oreo update is due for it this month in beta form, so expect battery life to improve further.

That sounds very promising!

OnePlus aren't without their issues either. IMO LG and Samsung are the leaders now in terms of getting your money's worth. Amazing hardware, coupled with much better software than what either have ever released before.

Good to know.

Personally i'd be looking at the V30 or S8+.
V30 wasn't on my radar, I'll look into it!

Thanks for sharing all that knowledge!
