Currently I have an IPhone 5 16GB but to be honest I am bored of it so once I sell this one what would be a great new phone for me to try?

I do get bored in the end and swap and change phones as much as I can, Never been on contract but I may consider if it's an absolute Bargain!
Currently using Ovivo's Free plan :D But I do like to mess around with a new phone /Technology and the time has come to change phones again.

I have to confess I do like the look of the Lumia models 920/925/1020 ;) But to be honest I just want a new phone to mess about with, They all make Calls and Texts and I can live without a shed load of apps that aren't on windows phone yet.

What do you think? I've stuck my iphone on a local site, So as soon as this one sells I can get my new one but I wanted some input first!

I can highly recommend the Lumia 1020, if you use the camera a lot but the Lumia 925 is also very good if you want a handset now.

Its also worth noting other than the Lumia 1520, which may be a little large depending on your own tastes the Lumia line maybe pending a hardware refresh at some point early next year.

I'd agree with Andy, 925 or 1020.

A year on and I still love Windows Phone, here's my lock screen and home screen.

The next big thing I'm looking forward to is 8.1, Notifications and a pedometer on the always on Glance Screen.

Oh and these Lumias don't take a bad photo if I do say so myself. :)

To be fair I am almost sold on the Lumia :D It's definitely my kind of phone ;) The size put me off initially but after a couple of minutes in my hand I had forgotten all about it and people moaning about the lack of apps are just being picky, There are tons of apps available now.

Any idea what the going rate for a second hand 900/925/1020 is?

I guess that should read 920/925/1020 ...

920 - £160
925 - £200
1020- £350

As for the lack of apps, it's just a myth that people spout off without actually knowing what's in the store. All of the main one's are there.

Instagram ✅ Waze ✅ Reddit ✅ (Baconit/Readit. Both superior than on other platforms) Vine ✅ YouTube ✅ (myTube and Metrotube) Pandora ✅ Snapchat ✅ (unofficial, fully-featured 6snap) Facebook ✅ Twitter ✅ Whatsapp ✅ Kik messanger ✅ Tumblr ✅ Facebook ✅ Twitter ✅

Cheers and yes it was meant to say 920/925/1020 :D Every app I use was there and then some... Some cool looking apps that are just for windows too that I will more than likely be getting.

I was all set going for a windows phone, but no Barclays mobile banking app was crucial for me, apparently barclays are "monitoring" the demand for a windows app, which translates to that they cant be bothered.

Barclays are due to be releasing a app shortly. :)

A large survey of 370,000 customer interactions has convinced UK bank Barclays that it needs to produce a Windows Phone app.

“After the success of Your Bank, it’s crucial that we show our customers that we are acting on their feedback which is why we have already made these commitments, with more to come,” said Barclays Retail Bank MD Catherine McGrath.

Barclays had previously cited a lack of user base as the reason for not offering the app alongside availability on Android, iPhone and BlackBerry devices more than a year ago.

“With industry switching now up and running we know that consumers have plenty of different options when it comes to choosing their bank – and we want to ensure they have plenty of options when it comes to banking with Barclays. We value our customers and believe that in order to keep customer loyalty we need to see life from their perspective and ensure they are at the heart of everything we do.”

Barclays did not provide timings for when the app might deliver , but told V3.co.uk it will be “soon.”

They tweeted earlier in the year, it would be out before 2014, which doesn't leave them long, i reckon it'll be late.

Also the new glance screen is gdr3/nokia black update, not 8.1. it'll be preinstalled on 1520/1320 and other phones should start seeing it some time in jan, but if it was like gdr2 could be a few months before everyone has it.

List of features for gdr3 here
http://blogs.windows.com/windows_ph...ate-plus-a-new-developer-preview-program.aspx

Then theres all the nokia black update features as well. Like the pedometer, storyboard etc.

Wp8.1 is looking like march ish. With new lumia devices running wp8.1 to be shown off at MWC in feb. Hopefully a 1020 replacement. Same everything just high res screen and snapdragon 800 (thats not a rumour, just what I'm hoping for)

Actually I totally forgot about the banking app I am with Barclay's too ;) but I rarely use the app on my phone because I totally forgot it was there!

I went to to get a 1020, great phone apart from a major design floor (at least for me) Square corners. Tried it in my pocket and OWWWWWWWWWWW. I will wait till they release one a little smaller and the same camera :)

(also feels a little cheap, would have been great in a steel/aluminum body)
