New PlusNet Announcment!

What did happen to PN? They used to have few customers when I joined and they were fantastic. Tech support was second to none and nothing was a problem for them, their package that I signed up to was by far the best. Then all of a sudden, they turn into a third rate ISP with as much money saving/grabbing as they can get away with.

I signed up to unlimited broadband, now Im lucky to be able to surf and download my e-mail per day.

TBH I blame BT for changing their pricing structure, I would much rather pay extra for speed rather than download data.

Any recs? I would like a static ip if possible and need them to be fairly cheap. Im not fussed about p2p, but I regularly need to download 50mb updates/windowsupdates for the many PC's I repair.

They got recomended, they got popular, they got greedy.

I understand them saying they cant sustain heavy downloading, but they have went beyond the line now.

Good news for me. Why should my service be hindered my people downloading unnecessary torrents etc.

Give it about 2 years and every single ISP will be capped in one way or another.

the position used to be that the break-even point for a 50:1 IPStream line was around 10-12GB per month

20kB/s sustained, so about 6GB a month. Nothing changes with IPStream Max - the Centrals still cost the same.

Except for the slight snag that it affects the ultra-light users too, because those limits have the Ellacoya joy over and above that.
