After years of Steven Wilson saying "Nope, not interested", it seems they're back with a new Album completed but due June 2022, and a tour. Wasn't expecting that!

Seems that at least some of the material has been knocking around for a while, but I'm liking the new single (Harridan). Evidently no Colin Edwin any more, which is a shame, but I'm willing to bet that's Nick Beggs on bass.

I'm not sure it was as simple as Steven not wanting to do it, they've all got pretty busy careers. Yeah Beggs seems likely as bassist. Will be good to see them live again next year hopefully!

Maybe there's a hidden meaning in his words, but I got the distinct impression he didn't want to do it :D

"What are the chances of a return for Porcupine Tree?"
"Well, honestly, I would say zero, because I'm just not that kind of person. I don't go backwards. I'm not interested in going backwards; I want to move forwards, I want to do different things, I want to work with different people, I want to explore different kinds of music. That would seem like a terribly backward step to me. I'm proud of the catalogue; it's there, it exists, but it's kind of closed, it's finished. We did 10 albums in 15 years; I think that was a good time to stop and do something else, personally."

Maybe he's running out of cash! Only one UK date (London) which is also really odd. I saw them back in the noughties in all sorts of places- Norwich UEA was an absolute highlight, tiny intimate venue. Caught a guitar pick lobbed by Wilson with my head....

Tickets secured for a few rows from front… loving the song so far, bodes well for the album.

Ticketmaster went down for me as soon as the presale started. By the time I got in, which must have only been 5 minutes later, the best available were at the back of Section B2. So I'd expect a sell-out. Hopefully some additional dates....
