Hi all,

Just starting to get back into my photography again, I have a couple of shoots lined up for next month so once i'm signed off to driving again by the doc will have some new photos.

Anyway I have updated my website and would like some feedback! I have gone for a minimalist look, hopefully not too minimal!

Cheers!

I like it:) But a couple of things...

Not a fan of the transition on the home page. How about a simple fade?

Could you make the menu bar less tall? It takes up a lot of space. On my screen (1680x1050) I'm getting a scroll bar on the portraits page which makes the whole page jump left a bit.

I'm not sure about the heavy black borders round images, I don't feel they sit with the rest of the site, nor the forward and backwards buttons. Could you remove the buttons?

Found an error... If you go to page 2 on portraits, then go to other galleries, nothing shows up.

I do like it though:) Hope you don't feel I'm being too critical.

Overal I like, a couple of pointers thoughts:

The thumbnails don't at all show the photo, some of them are just plain colour. Best to just use a resized version of the complete picture, or make a combination of cropping and resizing but this will need quite a bit of care for each photo.

Also there is a bi of lag, which is always annoying when viewing photo sites.

I'll have a look at your site later, but be aware that if you're offering services (or even if you're not!) that you shouldn't have a link to your site in your sig. You might have a short holiday from the forums otherwise! :)

Thanks : ) - I have reduced the size of the header, does look neat now.
I have also removed the buttons and replaced with Previous & Next.
Fixed the issue with the other pages.
Will change to fade soon.

I will look into generating thumbnails rather than using percentages of the image.

Where are we experiencing lag?

I have removed it now :).

I have now amended the JavaScript to fade rather than fold. Keep the suggestions rolling :)

Looking at auto generating thumbnails now.
