Right, first off im anth. I am considering this rig, 90% for gaming and the other 10% for other stuff (including video rendering).
I would appriciate it a lot if you could assess it, give me some advice or what ever :)

MOBO - Asus P5K Premium/WiFi-AP Intel P35 (Socket 775) PCI-Express DDR2 Motherboard
Processor - Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 LGA775 'Wolfdale' 3.00GHz
Case - USING OLD CASE
Memory - Corsair 4GB DDR2 XMS2 PC2-6400C5 TwinX (2x2GB)
Graphics Card - USING EXISTING 8800GT (prehaps upgrade)
Hard Drive - EITHER USE MY EXISTING 500GB DRIVE OR - Seagate Barracuda 7200.11 1.5TB SATA-II 32MB Cache
Drives - USING EXISTING LIGHTSCRIBE
Cooling - UNSURE
Power Supply - OCZ StealthXStream 700w Silent SLI Ready ATX2 Power Supply

Price Including VAT - £377.16 (Without the HD) £499.05 (With HD)
P.S. As you can proberly tell, im kinda on a budget so cheap but powerfull ;)
Comment?

1. Mobo: Asus P5Q Pro Intel P45 (Socket 775) PCI-Express DDR2 Motherboard

better and cheaper , can buy a wifi card for cheap, probably cheaper sencond hand, although best to use wired for games imo

2. HDD: keep existing HDD and save that cash, no point if you are on tight budget, you won't see any real benefit

3. PSU: Corsair VX 450W ATX PSU (CMPSU-450VXUK) dont need 700w and OCZ just ain't the king when it comes to PSU, Corsair is better

4. GPU: with all the savings upgrade gfx card to ATI 4850 since 90% gaming then you will be a happy bunny

5. Cooling: use retail intel cooler and switch the day you need to OC, but e8400 doesnt not need any OC for games today (except maybe flight sim, i hear that is CPU intensive)

Thanks for the help lunar :) Much appriciated. Yeh i saw that MOBO but just never edited the post :p You think 450W will be enough? and psychas due to the fact most games do not support it, i do little video rendering and my budget, i think ill leave the quad core for now :)

Quads rock, but the E8400 is a worthy alternative.

yeah 450 should be ok, can check psu power needed http://www.extreme.outervision.com/psucalculatorlite.jsp

if you plan to add a second card later maybe get 600w range then Corsair TX 650W ATX2.2 SLi Compliant PSU - this will pwr up 2x4850 for sure, so it will give you freedom for upgrades

lot of saavy marketing is pushing us to buy huge watts for no real reason - i am guilty ;)

PS what res do you play at? the gpu will give you the most significant boost in games (if you play at 1600x1050 then 4850/70 512mb should be great, if you play at higher res then probably nvidia 260/216 minimum) - obvioulsy powerfull cards need more juice to run
