New Driver Coming Soon

Auzentech is putting the fnal touches on an enhanced download system that will include a new X-Fi Prelude driver. Projected launch is the early morning hours of THursday, June 12 (USA Pacific time).

I'm just about to try the XFI Gamer BETA drivers to see if there is still distortion above 89 volume level in vista32 (4GB RAM) and if there is I will sell it and get a prelude as the final drivers are due today so all should be good!

i'm downloading them now :) . Their new download system is a pain, now you need to register to download the new drivers, but at least you don't need to keep entering your serial.

Is there anywhere else you download these new drivers from as i cant be bothered to get inside my case and find the number and then register.

Yeah what a pain, I had to resort to pulling my card :(

I've had some very heavy crashes BSOD since installing these!

Is there no soundcard out today that just has drivers that "work"? i remember the Turtle beach Santa Cruz which had drivers from 2003 that were made for XP and were never updated since then, why? because they had /zero/ issues and were legendary by word of mouth alone. Those were the good old days :/

I'm hesitant to install these as ive just done a fresh install of windows today and put the previous set of drivers on which ive had no trouble with.

why dont 1 of you upload the new drivers to sendspace.com and post the link in here so ppl dont have to register:)

i know, it's retarded

the c-media chips were awesome

Santa Cruz
Game Theatre XP -if this has 64bit drivers, i'd dig it out again (it has vista 32 drivers!!)

solidly stable, took me 115mins to get the santa cruz driver on dial-up (120 minute cut out on bt :p )

I just registered my card and it says:

Use the Authorization Key listed above to activate your soundcard driver during installation. The key can only be used for a limited number of driver activations. However, it will be remembered during subsequent driver upgrades on the same PC.

WFT is that all about? it's only a soundcard not a bleeding game.

Pretty sure it's only for the DDL functionality. If you don't use that feature, then you don't need to bother activating it during install.

Yeah, the activation is only for the DDL feature. I dont use it, so i didn't register. These drivers seem to be good so far. They finally fixed the mic volume issue, it's very clear now.

For anyone that is having trouble registering. I've uploaded the driver to sendspace:-

Dolby Digital Live, allows you to output anything over a digital connection in 24 bit dolby digital, which I hear gives a noticable improvement if you have a good amp which can decode it well. Otherwise most people say its better to use analogue outputs and ignore DDL as that way the decoding is done on the card which is superior to the decoding on cheaper sound systems.

Using these new drivers has fixed a lot of stuff for me, mic volume is much better (though I got a usb mic a long while back as a workaround anyway) and DDL doesnt jam/get stuck looping for me either.

Finally they've gotten a good set of drivers out! Don't get why the hell activation is necessary, I mean what the hell are you gonna do if you get the drivers and don't have the card!?

Someone modified an older copy of them to run on normal X-Fi cards to enable the DDL feature.
